Hmong Ai Translator Privacy Policy

Hmong Ai Translator (“the app”) is a language translator that requires an account. This policy describes what data is processed when you use the app on Android, iOS, or the web.
Information we collect
- Account data — email address, display name (optional), and authentication data handled by Google Firebase Authentication when you sign up with email or Google.
- App feedback — star ratings and optional comments you submit in Settings, stored in Firebase Firestore and linked to your account.
- Translation text — the text you enter is sent to a translation provider when you tap Translate.
- Voice input — if you use the microphone, audio is processed by your device or operating system speech service to produce text; we do not operate our own speech servers.
Information stored on your device
- Translation history and phrasebook favorites
- Language, theme, and engine preferences
- Optional Gemini or OpenAI API keys you paste in Settings
Information sent to service providers
Firebase (Google) — account sign-up, sign-in, email verification, and feedback you submit.
When you tap Translate, the text you entered (plus selected languages and tone) is sent to a translation provider:
- Free engine: MyMemory / Translated.net
- Gemini engine: Google Gemini API (using a key you provide or your own proxy)
- OpenAI engine: OpenAI API (using a key you provide or your own proxy)
- Custom proxy: the HTTPS URL you configure in Settings
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising networks in the app.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. Do not enter personal information about children into the translator.
